Stay Hydrated with Watermelon Dishes

Happy National Watermelon Day!  Did you know that watermelon is a great way of staying hydrated during the summer and is filled with vitamin B6 (brain power!)?  Another great reason to love it apart from its wonderful sweetness.  At CaterMasters, we’ve done several dishes using this yummy fruit (some consider it a vegetable!), pairing it with savory items to create hors d’oeuvres and salad entrees.  It pairs deliciously well with cheeses such as blue cheese or feta with balsamic glaze on a bed of arugula.  We cube it with whipped blue cheese and candied walnut is a popular hors d’oeuvres for us!  It is always the first to go on our fruit platters, with our beautiful carved fruit!  Read more for photos of our favorite dishes.
